Communication Book Update

 Dear Parents, 

As we come to the end of our semester, the school calendar is increasingly busy with special events such as outings visiting the Junior High Schools, the school picnic and conversation activities. Due to these reasons, Grade 6 teachers have made the decision to carry over our final story ‘ Journey to the Center of the Earth’ until the beginning of next semester. We will continue to provide alternative teaching and learning activities in the few remaining lessons before winter vacation as a worthwhile conclusion to this semester. Thank you in advance for your ongoing support and understanding.

Create a PPT presentation of at least 15 slides with photos of what you did during your Winter vacation and Chinese New Year Holidays. Each slide should have a photo a caption and a date.

 

Topics:

Places you visited. What you did there. Who you were with.

If you stayed at home – What games/video games did you play? – What movies did you watch? What books did you read?

If you went to Winter Camp School. Who was in your class? What did you learn?

If you traveled abroad? Get an airport picture with your boarding pass. Where did you go? Where did you stay? What was the food like? What activities did you do?

Test Scope - Grade 6 - A1

 

Hello G6-A1 Parents,

 

Our class will have their third round of Exams starting next week for this semester.

 

Please note the scheduled test dates: 

The Listening/Reading Test will be on

 Wednesday, January 3^rd.

The Oral Presentation Tests will start on

Tuesday 2^nd , Wednesday 3^rd  and Thursday 4^th.

 

The English Written Test will be on

Tuesday, January 9^th.

 

       The tests will cover the following:

 

LISTENING / READING TEST:

Use and trust your instincts. Stay focused and listen carefully to the whole conversation before selecting your answer. Some of the questions will try and trick you.

 

ORAL PRESENTATION TEST:

Create an original short story, 3-4 min. long based on the topic provided.

 

WRITTEN TEST: 

Review Communication book, Reader-Writer Book, homework writing books, quizzes and Unit tests for weeks 15-18.

Be able to match core vocabulary to its definition

Reader-Writer 5.2 Stories and Articles –Wreck of the Titanic, Talking with an Astronaut

 

Comprehension of events in the stories is a must.

You should have a good understanding of each stories plot.

 

Grammar focus on Articles and Adjectives, as well as this, that, these, those.

 

 

 

 I have asked the students to bring home their books so they can prepare for the exam.
